Surveying and mapping is an industry based on computer technology, optoelectronic technology, network technology, space science, and information science, with global navigation satellite positioning system (GNSS), remote sensing (RS), and geographic information system (GIS) as the technical core, to obtain, process, and provide information on the Earth's gravity field and surface geography, environment, and human culture. It mainly includes astronomical geodesy, photogrammetry and remote sensing, mapping, engineering surveying, and marine surveying. Meanwhile, with the continuous maturity of global satellite navigation and positioning technology and the gradual improvement of global satellite navigation systems, the surveying and mapping industry has made significant progress, closely promoting the popularization of related surveying and mapping technologies and the application of surveying equipment.
