Representing the highest level of China's civil and commercial communication satellites, the Asia Pacific 6D communication satellite has been successfully launched
Ten years ago, in 2010, focusing on the future development trends and application needs of communication satellites, China proposed to further carry out technological innovation on the basis of the Dongfanghong-4 satellite platform (DFH-4 platform) to comprehensively enhance the international competitiveness of China's communication satellite platform. In 2012, the Dongfanghong-4 satellite platform officially began development.
The successful launch of the Asia Pacific 6D communication satellite also brought out the Dongfanghong-4 satellite platform, which is the platform's first appearance on the international commercial aerospace stage.
The Dongfanghong-4 satellite platform has advantages such as "high carrying capacity, high power, long lifespan, and high reliability", with stronger and more intelligent capabilities, which can meet the needs of various satellite communication applications in the future and has broad application prospects.
The payload carrying capacity is like the chassis of a car and is an important indicator for measuring the capability of a satellite platform.
Due to the adoption of the all-new Dongfanghong-4 satellite platform, the payload weight of the Asia Pacific 6D communication satellite is 1.5 times that of a regular Dong-4 satellite, the number of repeater devices is 2 to 3 times that of a regular Dong-4 satellite, and the number of waveguides is nearly 6 times that of a regular Dong-4 satellite. At the same time, the platform's power supply and distribution system adopts innovative references such as a new generation 14.4kW power controller, a large one-dimensional secondary unfolding solar wing, a high-power solar wing drive mechanism, and a large capacity lithium-ion battery pack. The platform's power supply safety protection and power system in orbit autonomous management capabilities have reached the international advanced level.
Asia Pacific 6D 'Overweight', Long March 3rd Weight Loss Guarantee for Transportation
The Asia Pacific 6D communication satellite was developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. As the first launch satellite of China's first Ku band "high-throughput broadband satellite communication system", the Asia Pacific 6D communication satellite is developed based on the Dongsi enhanced platform for the first time. It uses electric propulsion to complete the full life cycle of north-south positioning, with a launch weight of about 5550 kilograms and a service life of 15 years. It is ultimately positioned at 134 degrees east longitude.
Compared with the previous support of China's first 100Mbps network aircraft, the communication capacity of the Asia Pacific 6D satellite has reached 50Gbps, which is 2.5 times that of the Zhongxing 16 satellite, and the number of user beams is 4 times that of the Zhongxing 16 satellite. The payload system of this satellite adopts nearly 20 new technologies, products, and processes, effectively improving the communication capacity and flexibility of satellite use, which is of great significance for the development of high-throughput broadband communication satellites.
The application of high-throughput broadband satellite communication mainly includes three parts: satellite space segment, ground gateway station, and end users.
The Asia Pacific 6D satellite has eight ground gateway stations, which are connected to the Internet through optical cables and can send broadband network signals to ground users. The high-throughput satellite is like a space signal relay station set up in space, which enables the ground users to connect with the ground gateway station via radio signal transmission. This satellite can support an application rate of nearly 100 Mbps for ground users.
At the same time, the Asia Pacific 6D communication satellite also has the ability to adapt to the subsequent integrated design of space and earth. Based on the capacity requirements of users in different regions, the size and bandwidth of the beam can be determined, and fine frequency resources can be flexibly allocated to achieve flexible switching between gateway stations. These key technologies have enabled China's satellite technology indicators and capabilities to reach the international advanced level.
03. More extensive and optimal application scenarios
In terms of commercial communication, it can provide the construction of super base stations for domestic operators and offer high-quality satellite broadband communication services for users such as general aviation, ocean going cargo ships, and scientific research vessels;
In terms of emergency communication, it can achieve forest fire prevention, disaster rescue, maritime rescue, and remote area rescue;
In terms of public communication, it can achieve services such as remote education, remote healthcare, broadcasting, and live streaming.
It can be expected that as the largest civil and commercial communication satellite in China with the largest communication capacity, most beams, highest output power, and most complex design, the Asia Pacific 6D satellite will utilize its high-quality, efficient, and economical satellite broadband communication services to effectively promote and drive social progress and economic development in the service area.
