    The Chang'e-4 mission team won the Royal Aeronautical Society 2019 Team Gold Award

        London, November 25th (Xinhua) -- The Royal Aeronautical Society's 2019 awards ceremony was held in London on the evening of November 25th, and the Chang'e-4 mission team won the team gold award of the year, becoming the only team in the world to receive this honor this year. This is the first time in its 153 year history that the Royal Aeronautical Society has awarded an award to a Chinese project.Bill Tayak, Chairman of the Prize Committee of the Royal Aeronautical Society, said at the award ceremony that the Chang'e-4 mission team achieved the first lunar back soft landing of a human probe, which is an "outstanding achievement".

        Wu Weiren said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that this award shows the continuous improvement of China's lunar exploration project and even the entire aerospace industry, and also indicates the increasing recognition of China's aerospace achievements internationally.

        Wang Chi, deputy chief designer of the Chang'e-4 project and an academician of the CAS Member, said that China's lunar exploration project has made great contributions to the improvement of the human aerospace knowledge system. Next year, China will launch Chang'e-5 to complete the unmanned sampling of lunar samples.On January 3, 2019, Chang'e-4 successfully landed in the Von Karman impact crater on the far side of the moon. With the support of the "Magpie Bridge" relay satellite, the Chang'e-4 lander and the "Yutu-2" rover respectively conducted in place exploration and patrol surveys, achieving a series of important scientific achievements.The Chang'e-4 mission was led and organized by the China National Space Administration. With the joint efforts of nearly a thousand domestic units, tens of thousands of scientists and engineering technicians, as well as foreign cooperation teams, it took six years to complete the development and launch.The Royal Aeronautical Society of the United Kingdom was founded in 1866 and is the oldest professional organization in the aerospace industry internationally.
